Associate Hospice and Palliative Care Veterinarian - Leadership Track

Hampton Roads Veterinary Hospice (HRVH) is a member of the Caring Pathways family of End-of-Life Care, AAHA-Accredited Veterinary Practices. Our supportive team enables veterinarians to deliver excellent end-of-life medical care while serving all involved with compassion. Our veterinarians appreciate focusing on the quality of heartfelt connections with families and their pets without being rushed. Our industry-leading training and one-on-one mentoring processes ensure new team members are supported to succeed and excel in their roles, including those with limited experience in providing veterinary hospice and palliative care and/or in-home euthanasia.
This opening is intended for a veterinarian who envisions themselves in a practice leadership role in 1-3 years via expansion or increasing responsibilities. The ambitious person who joins HRVH will balance serving as a hospice and palliative care veterinarian, and professional development through directed advanced medical and leadership training. The role requires four shifts per week with specific days, times, and focus set in consultation with management. Tyler Carmack, DVM, CVA, CHPV, CVFT, CTPE, CVPP is the founder of HRVH and serves as Director of Hospice and Palliative Care for Caring Pathways, and President of the International Association for Animal Hospice and Palliative Care.
We also have openings for full-time and part-time associates and Per Diem veterinarians who are not pursuing a leadership preparation role at this time, please share your preferred position when applying.

Job Requirements:
Prior completion of CHPV or advanced training in pain management or geriatrics. If you have not yet attained CHPV, you must be willing to complete the program in your first year of employment if you are joining the leadership preparation role.

Salary Information: Compensation dependent on veterinarian commitment and schedule. Relocation expense reimbursement available.

Flex Hospice and Palliative Care Veterinarian

Are you experienced in veterinary end-of-life care or passionate about making a meaningful impact in this rewarding area of veterinary medicine? Are you looking for a flexible, full-time role that allows you to work just 30 hours per week?

Join our team as a Flex Schedule Veterinarian and help provide compassionate in-home hospice and palliative care to families and their beloved pets. This unique opportunity offers the ability to serve families while enjoying the flexibility to design a schedule that fits your lifestyle and personal needs.

There are additional opportunities for a variety of flexible schedules including full-time (3-4 days/week), part-time (1-2 days a week), and a range of day/night/weekend shifts. Work-life balance, professional satisfaction, and strong teamwork are at the center of our culture. This position is ideal for doctors who like to work independently and create a weekly schedule that works for them, but also appreciate the backing of a highly trained client care and nursing team, along with veterinarian colleagues to support one another. 

Compensation and benefits are dependent on the veterinarian’s chosen schedule and workload, our full-time doctors can earn $100k or more annually.
